Commissioner's Message
January 11, 2004
We are now in full swing, with every night seeing a full schedule. Please
keep cancellations to a minimum. Several issues have arisen which I want each of
you to enforce. They are:
- Enforcement of the Duval County Pre-game Sportsmanship rule is a point of
emphasis! Failure to enforce this rule shall be penalized.
- Please refer to the following link for Clarification of this rule.
(Duval County Sportsmanship Rule)
- The use of artificial noisemakers during FHSAA contests is prohibited. It
is up to each and every one of you to enforce this rule. Examples of
artificial noisemakers includes:
- Air horns;
- Penny Jugs;
- Whistles;
- Megaphones
- Megaphones are only permitted to be used by cheerleaders for cheering
purposes only;
- Any use by spectators is prohibited;
- Use by bench personnel is a technical foul.
- Additionally, the use of mirrors or laser pens are strictly prohibited!
- Contact Host Management to remove these items as soon as they are
discovered.
District, Regional and State Series games will be here sooner than we think.
Now is the time for everyone to step up a notch. For all the teams, post-season
seeding for the District Tournaments are on the line. We need to give 110
percent.
